Well we have an adventure goat... she has been for two tractor rides, two truck rides. And three long walks. We have part of the tree removed, but still need to work on clearing the road. We have got the bottle feeding worked out, and I’ve now signed up for backyard herds. View attachment 2482007
I’m sticking with Roostie’s dose of the enrofloxacin for now.
Awwww... you’re a goat mama now!!! I need to catch up to see how Roostie is doing. ❤

Just look at that tree trunk. Wow!

Someone has a pet goat! Congratulations Kris!

Oh, that’s right! It’s still Friday in California!

Quick Roostie update. We have a vet appointment on Monday, mostly thanks to people here who have more faith in my access to veterinarians than I do. I doubled his enrofloxacin dose and the swelling has gone down a bit, but it’s still not ok yet. I also got the AmoxyTyl and drawing ointment in the mail finally, right after I made the appointment, of course. So things are looking a bit better for him. I also found the farms stash of antibiotics... while raiding for goat milk replacer... going to have to research some I think!

Excellent! I did know about the vet on Monday. So awesome. Kathy and Kim in the emergency forum are good with dosing on antibiotics. However, a vet opinion will be great to prescribe the proper antibiotic, lance it, or whatever it needs. Have you posted photos lately of his foot?

Kris, I forgot to tell you. I had enrofloxacin prescribed by an avian vet at ~ 6.81mg/lb of chicken body weight twice daily for 7-10 days (depending on severity). Are you good with the math on that?

True, though I was trying to make a serious point that got stuffed up by the goat distraction.
My point was to thank everyone for creating such a lovely, supportive and kind community and a wonderful global virtual flock.
BYC is generally a respectful place relative to the real world of social media, but even in BYC this stands out as a wonderful community.
So I just wanted to say thank you for everyone contributing to that and for letting me and my Princesses participate.
