Your birds are looking great! Thanks for the photos!

What is it about old coop stuff that they must go dig through it? They could have done that the whole time it was in there!
I stopped for a few moments to get a picture of a hen, and turn to go back to the wheelbarrow and they are already “helping” me with it 🙄. If they had dug through it a little more when it was in the coop it would have been far less nasty to clean out, I’m sure. Thankfully I got it all done and replaced before their bedtime!

They might have missed a bit - so they need to check before it gets taken away!

several of my meat girls are considering going broody, as are a few of the Red Rock Pullets. Nothing serious yet, but boy, was Roosties girl put out when I stole “her” eggs and took her out to clean their roosting box. The racket!

“My eggs were right here?!? What happened to them? WHAT do you think you are doing? That’s my hay... where are my eggs? They were right here with this poop!” Alarm! Alarm! Alarm! “The human is cleaning our bedding out and has stolen our (read “my”) eggs!” ALARM!!!

It is so funny when they are dismayed. They can make quite a racket! 😆

Here we have Cass and two of “his” personal Tribe... these girls are always following him, along with a few others. One, or maybe both, of the Gopala girls (crested Black Sapphire Marans crosses who are nearly identical and often move so quickly they are quite hard to tell apart).

And I think my goat is broken... she wants to spend all her time sleeping in the trailer, has severe separation anxiety, and wants to eat with her small furry herd mates that make the hissing growling noises at her and have the really sharp hooves. By placing a dish with some feed and alfalfa near the cat dishes, I have almost convinced her that this is edible and maybe more appropriate than her eating the catfood. She is also eating some organic salad greens (but not the baby spinach or chard) if I hand feed them to her. At least I’ve gotten her away from the propane heater... I swear she’s trying to roast herself! In bedroom trying to sleep: Sniff, sniff... “Andrew! Please get the goat away from the heater, I can smell her burning fur!” And he responds by depositing a very toasty, only slightly scorched, kid on the bed. Better than a hot water bottle (and hasn’t even been leaky the last few nights *knocks on wood*)

Aww, she’s adorable! ❤️

Looks promising. Good luck! I read up about how the drawing ointments work and you would put it in the middle of the hole - it softens the skin to make it easier for the pus to break through.
I'm waiting on some from Amazon. Surprise surprise, the local chemist can't say when the stuff Gloria prescribed will arrive due to Covid disruptions.

Always a problem when other creatures find out the comparative luxury the humans live in. Can't really blame them for wanting to move in.
What we can't explain to them though is if our fabricated environments and it's infrastructure break down we would have terrible problems surviving.

I've decided to adapt one of the duck sheds to make a coop for Treacle and Moon.
I don't think Treacle is ever going to allow Cillin into the main coop again.
Jenny's and Solomon's main shed is large enough to put a divider in (there was one in before) and they've been sleeping together anyway.
I can't blame Treacle for his behaviour. He's learnt it from his dad who has spent the last year chasing Treacle away fromm the hens unless Treacle has been on escort duties.
I didn't really want to meddle in this but Fat Bird and Fudge and at times Tackle are very reluctant to go into the coop at night now that Cillin isn't there.
It's a terrible shame but I can't make the pair get on and there is no way I could rehome either; it would just break my heart.
Cillin is fine roosting in the house at the moment but he should, as they both should, be with their hens.
I think Treacle and Moon will make a couple. I'm not entirely sure how this will work out,

This kid is just endless enjoyment for Mrs BY Bob. Keep the stories coming.

I love that picture of the flock on the hillside. Very scenic!

To everyone, this is why I bought some a long time ago for my med kit. To everyone who reads this thread and does not have good access to medical care for your chickens, please consider stockpiling what you might need now. After @Kris5902 problems with getting antibiotics and now this, even me getting coconut oil to help Hattie when you need it, it is never there soon enough. It just makes sense to purchase ahead of when you need it.
