Pretty obvious from what I understand. You will see them limping and the sore on the foot is easy to pick out.

If you can get them before they get to the limping stage it is better, as by then they are more severe like Roostie and Cillin’s. Best thing is to check the bottoms of the feet during routine handlings for a hard black lump. That’s how I’ve found and successfully treated a few prior cases, Mrs B and Dean, and a couple of other bumbles at an earlier stage. The treatment is essentially the same, soak, drain, remove the scab and core, keep clean and let it heal up.

I had to scroll back to summer of 2019, but here is Mrs B’s foot after her scab came off. He bumble was about 1/4 the size of Roostie’s, she wasn’t limping at all, I only noticed it because I was inspecting her for issues and determining what treatments were needed (mites and lice) after I removed her and Missy from the farm coop.

Excellent breakdown Kris. Very helpful.

The info is on (NFC B day chat) if interested!
I’m so glad she’s ok! I understand completely. If it was just a few hundred I would be looking at, I might be able to justify it as well. That is one heck of a long drive too. XRays, general anesthesia, and surgery here runs way too expensive, even for such a sweet boy. Next time remember to let us all know too so we can be there for moral support! :hugs
