It is a cold clear night as the wind howls and the moon rises.

Very evocative and poetic ByBob. 🥰

The most important thing is to help Roostie and keep all of you from any further injuries. Photos are just a bonus. And you could always do before and after shots with a "spoiler" for gross foot contents . 😉

Edit:
" I will be sure to use spoilers if I do get any footage. "

Yesterday was irrigation day here—the first in some time due to a scheduled pause over the holidays. The last few had also been at night. These chickens range from 5 to almost 10 months old, so the rush of water was an unwelcome surprise at first.

We made for higher ground

Oh goodness that is funny and adorable! Why do you flood the area? Just curious.

We are in the metropolitan Phoenix area, and it's very hot and dry here, so we're very lucky to have access to water at all. It's the only way things grow well. This neighborhood was once all orange groves, and so these homes still can access irrigation. It's well worth it, but something strange to get used to!

Chickens usually grow to love it, because it brings the bugs! It is a sort of feast day for foragers.
