Bob, do you wanna know a meat treat that my flock is absolutely crazy for? Beef liver! I got it at first when Roxy got really anemic… Remember when her intestines were bleeding? Anyway, I had no idea, because I had never purchased it before, but it is super, super cheap! By cheap, I mean inexpensive. And it’s an amazing iron boost. My flock goes absolutely crazy for it. I cut it into tiny little cubes and I control who gets a bite at a time.
Raw or cooked? I will look into it (and probably should have read ahead because this question may have been asked, sorry!)
My little raptors are gagging for a good iron boost treat! The last roast I did they dived on the offcuts 🦖

My deck is always a mess. I have to clean it multiple times a week and almost every day in the summer. It's part of the joy of chickeneering.
Hahaha, like our concrete area outside the back glass door. Why does no one warn you about the poop?! It’s just so, so much 😂😂😂 and stepping in a cecal poop (or seeing the dog eat one) 🤢 🤮
No kisses from Mr Scrambles that day 🤣

once you’ve committed to something like that there really isn’t anything else you can do but push through, pray, and learn for next time. And the meadow was 100% the safer option, rabbit holes and all. I figured that out getting home in our last snowstorm. A 10” thick limb almost hit me walking our road to the first gate, it landed within 5’ of me. Insert brown pants jokes here. Best to stay home, but better a field of rabbit holes than that for sure!
So dangerous. I'm very glad you both dodged the falling limbs and are safe and with us today.

Bob's thread gets 10 or more pages a day. That's over 100 entries. It is taking me about 2 hours a day to keep up!

And it's. All. Our. Fault. :lau

Luckily I love my chicken friends. ❤
I spend from 7 to 8:30 am every morning catching up on our threads. It's the best part of my day.

Ok, dumb question. What is chicken tax? I guess I haven't been in this thread long enough. 🤷.
Anytime that i stay off of a topic related to chickens I decided to pay a "chicken tax" for doing so and include a picture of a chicken as payment. This is to assure that I keep the focus on what this thread is about. Chickens.

Others have picked it up and it is now something a lot of posters here do.

When you get on a soap box and go on about something that isn't about chickens you owe 'chicken tax' in the form of posting some chicken pictures.
It works well - we can chat about what we want but still keep the thread very anchored on chickens. And we all get to enjoy more chicken pictures and that has to be a good thing!
@Aussie-Chookmum , I guess I SHRA! :barnie

We love seeing chickens past and present. We can fondly remember the good times.

Here is Chickie, whom I had to have euthanised in March. She was such a cruisy, friendly little thing. She was ex-battery and had half a beak, but she was just so happy and would squat at the drop of a hat! :love
