I did a little test today, to see just how ferocious the littles are. I made pork ribs last night, and saved the bones. I set the littles on the chick blanket, and presented them with a bone. Just like Velociraptors, they attacked it. As I watched them shredding the meat off of it, I began to worry. They started looking over at me as if to say “you’re next!”

They actually pecked at it, but didn't eat much. (I'm careful about what I feed the littles)

Looks like the pecking order is well established.

I just love that pop of color that Queenie brings to your flock. Those Buckeye feathers are very pretty in their variety even though at first glance they all look the same.

I was thinking the same about that pretty pop of yellow.

All of that sounds so yummy, quiche is also a good use of eggs! I get way more than I need too, but I have plenty of friends that are willing to take the extras off my hands!

I sell my extras and pay for their feed with it. . Sometimes one of the kids need a doz.

I can't agree with those numbers. I have 6 hens and 3 nest boxes and only 2 nest boxes ever get used and they fight over the 1.
