My Isabel does the same thing.Mishka has this funny little habit sometimes of sitting next to you with just her paws on you.

They are so happy. I wish you could see them. They were doing full circuits of the lawn today. Nonstop motion. Running this way and that. Then a brief nap in the sun. Then right back at it. They are chasing and scratching. You can just tell how thrilled they are.I bet the chickens are pleased.
I'm in the habit of working in the garden with the hens 4.30-dinner time. It's nice! They are so happy. I wish you could see them. They were doing full circuits of the lawn today. Nonstop motion. It's 59°F. I am heading out to spend time with them at 5:15 pm instead of working until 7:00 like I normally do
Exactly what I've been thinking. Especially in California one would think! They likely must take the weather into account, and take precautions to try to ensure the cloud will not be drifting over neighbors' houses. However mistakes happen, and I'm afraid blatant disregard for best practices occurs quite often too. Frankly I wondered if Jaffar's earlier troubles weren't due to this same thing.Exactly right! This is CA. There has to be a duty to warn.
Live worms were a game changer for my relationship with the little road-runners.So, have you ever bought the real live, wriggly meal worms for your chickens?. Some folks only buy the fresh.
What are the road runners up to these days RC?Live worms were a game changer for my relationship with the little road-runners.
I need to spend more time with everyone. With the snow and ice it has just been too difficult and the road-runners are a bit stand-offish again. What are the road runners up to these days RC?
People say eggs get bigger with time, so perhaps Minnie's will too. It's good to hear they continue to stretch their wings!I need to spend more time with everyone. With the snow and ice it has just been too difficult and the road-runners are a bit stand-offish again.
Hopefully this weekend I can get more time and remind everyone how nice I really am!
The road-runners are both laying and are really huge. They are smaller than Maggie but similar in size to Diana and Elizabeth. They are very energetic and still fly everywhere and they lay blue eggs every couple of days or so. Minnie's are miniature eggs and not getting bigger and Dotty seems unable to lay a clean egg (I think it is an anatomical thing).
I remain besotted with them!
