I remember you explaining that to me when Diana took on Maggie. And now of course Maggie takes on the road runners. I think the road runners haven't figured out between themselves yet.
It can be very off-putting when you first see it. In fact I was still bothered by it a little tonight. 🤷‍♂️
 
That's how I would call it. Is Snow showing signs of being close to lay? Hens know these things & in my flock a laying hen has way more status than a non laying hen. When a new batch of girls start coming on the lay there are subtle shifts in the pecking order.
Her wattles are getting redder and a bit bigger, her comb is bigger that Belles but not huge.
As far as signs go there’s no squatting and I’m not seeing her checking out the nest but at the same time I’m at work most the day.
This was my thought though @Ribh maybe Belle is sensing something I’m missing. Or maybe the pecking order has been cemented a bit more and Belle is just keeping it known.
