That's a thought..and, why haven't I thought of giving my chickens nuts? Never have. They have a cherry tree they can pig out on. Apples too. My house treats, but no nuts.Walnuts are softer. I know. Seems strange when one considers they'll eat cracked corn.![]()
My tube doesn’t say anything really but does say don’t use on deep cuts which is obviously not the case so I think you are OK. Sorry for worrying you. Thanks for replying, RC! I will just keep an eye on it for now then, I need to use a magnifying glass to see it better. So you wouldn't advise putting anything on it?
I wouldn't have put ichthamol goop on anything big or deep, but this looked to me like a very small wound, a scrape or bit of a cut in a tiny spot, so I thought it would fall into the "minor wounds" category I had read it's okay for, and would be soothing and protect against infection until it healed. I have read articles like in this horse magazine website https://equusmagazine.com/diseases/ten-reasons-to-love-sticky-ichthammol-ointment-8477 that say "Coat minor cuts and abrasions immediately to minimize pain and protect from infection."
I won’t speak for @BY Bob but he is one of the kindest most welcoming people on earth so I am pretty sure he will be very happy for you to join. Particularly as you already post pictures which we all love seeing!May I join in the conversation? I know I post for FBF and Mugshot Monday, but I haven't really participated fully. I will officially stop complaining about my weather if it is snowing by you. It's snowing pretty hard out there right now. Was going out, but changed my mind. My girls seem to be fine this winter. Interesting. I usually use heat lamps. After doing some reading, I decided to give it a go without. Sure enough, they've done fine. I noticed Mable hot a bit of frostbite on part of her comb...my sexlink..but she's laying and eating and happy. Much more safe without the heat lamps.
We have had intermittent hailstorm here today. They are all tucked together into their coop with straw to keep them warm. It's snowing pretty hard out there right now.
