I have often pondered the deeper meanings wrt to this! Especially as social media and gaming are deliberately designed to addict (verb) users. Eyes on screens, Users, eyes on screens, dopamine, eyes on screens Users!
And yet @Aussie-Chookmum Tsuki was not an Alpha.......I remember reading that, too, Bob, and I’m curious. Margo was my first alpha.View attachment 2591297
And her comb is not large.Anecdotally, my alpha Margo was my lightest hen and had the biggest comb. However, Bridge is quite sturdy and is my current alpha. However, she’s also the most senior.
Yours have adopted a much more egalitarian society. For everyone but Ivy that is.From the hens at my house its nonsense because they don't even have a ranking.
Janet pecks Peggy
Peggy pecks Mary and Ivy
Mary pecks no one but is the boss of Janet
Ivy pecks no one
I was starting to wonder. Gosh the post is slow these days! I'm so glad it made it to you finally. I so wanted it to be a surprise and did not want to ask if you had received it. It was driving me crazy waiting to hear.Wow Bob, you’re getting in early for Christmas this year!
Thank you so much!I’m afraid I’ve been really slack with cards over the last decade. Yours are really special though!

Still waiting...I will have a talk with her today.
I have to say, great job team in helping while I was sleeping. That was some great teamwork. Please keep us posted Scrambles.Found an amprolium powder I can get from petstock tomorrow. She ate and drank and went to roost on her own, tail up all afternoon.
I rang the vet and it’s a bit pricier than yours @MaryJanet just for a consultation.
I’ll see how she is in the morning, make her some oatmeal and honey.
It can’t hurt to have the Cocciprol on hand regardless to go with the electrolyte and the vitamin solutions for the future.
Thank you all for helping me thus far![]()
I keep amprolium on hand and even though I have never had to use it, I like having it readily available if I ever do.Thanks Lozzy, I’m fearing the same thing. She just ate the egg with gusto.
None of the pet places here have amprolium either, not a good place to live with chickens it seems.
I wormed them not long ago, can give that a go I guess.
@Shadrach will admonish me for not having these things on hand I know...
Oops. Sorry. She? Ah come on, he’s a rooster. A real manly man!![]()
