Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

The littles spent their first night out in the run. I had a little separation anxiety, but they are all safe and happy. They prefer to perch high up, instead of being in the shelter I prepared for them.

I LOOOOOVE your chicken decorations! Where did you get them from?!

Awww. Thank you. They were supposed to be lawn ornaments but I think they would be useless at that as the spike is very tiny and all in 2 dimensions so I don't think they would stay upright. But they are perfect for wedging between the framing and the hardware cloth of the Chicken Palace.
I got them on Amazon like everything else since the pandemic. I have honestly forgotten what in-person shopping looks like - but now it is spring I do need to buy some plants etc. so will be heading out to the garden center.

It's finally Friday, now I can show the picture I've been holding back all week. Bunny's fluffy butt, who by the way, is now broody! If she stays put until the 24 hour mark tonight, I'll set her.

Yes it was. It was about that time that I realized why it was so fluffy, she started doing the ticking time bomb sounds that very day and the velociraptor shriek when I even talked to her on the nest. She stayed in the nest last night, is still there right now so I will give her about 3 or 4 eggs to hatch out. She is the 2nd girl in 3 days to go full on broody. Snickers is sitting on 5 eggs. No more girls are allowed to follow suit though, with momma hen raising babies, Snickers and Bunny deciding they want chicks as well and Holly in the middle of a molt and looking pitiful, I'm down 4 layers.

I have to confess, I check shite regularly. As in, I look over the “samples” every day to be sure there is nothing weird going on.

I watch every time the poo. I can't help myself anymore. But it is the only

I discovered that when I try to "trim" my 5 minute video of the Queenie & Buckeye dustbath down to 3 minutes in the Windows 10 default movie player, it actually gets 50% bigger, to almost a gig. I googled about it and it may have to do with compression formulas. Or pixel density. Changing those now is beyond my abilities. Unless I can figure that out, I will just try to make little videos to begin with. I can change settings on my phone at least!

Can you try your phone? Phones have great video editors. I do all my editing on my phone or tablet.
