Another disappointment today. The store owner, I received my new free hen from, left this morning. I went to the store to tell him just how much she fits in my tribe, and to thank him again. He is opening a new store a thousand miles from here. I guess business is business. This is her, with Jaffar, my roo, and they are inseparable!

I know myself I get so into the weed sometimes I forget to consider basic information. That is why I mentioned it to you. I know that you should know that.

Today my littles have started getting puffy spots on their chests, necks, and dorsals. Creamsicle's comb is shifting from orange to a pale pink, not reddening. Is it normal for single combs to turn pale pink at almost two weeks? Cinnabar has a rose comb so any visible progress is nay.

RC, Finding a nice tenant in this small town (Who doesn't do drugs, or drunk on alcohol, can be hard to find) My Bar as an ex US Marshall (Somewhat still active), is kinda high. But maybe a small family wanting to start out could work?

You could end up really helping someone starting out in life. Not try to make money but cover costs and have someone nearby when needed.

That is so sweet that you are going to do that. I owe you, along with others here, a real debt of gratitude for that experience last summer. While I might have done it without you, you especially provided the assurance I needed at key moments. You made it easy for me and I will never be able to repay that.

Perhaps he could indeed. Ned was lucky that Stanley taught him well. He got to Stanley just in time for good examples to be taught. I have come to believe that great rooster's have great fathers.

I was on the verge of leaving BYC when I found your and MJ's and Ribh's thread.
I had tried a few threads before and they all ended up largely people whinging about their lives, their health, their friends health, their dogs, cats and goldfish.
I joined BYC to talk about chickens. Your thread enabled me to do that.

Yesterday one of the one of the hens in my backyard, Sunny, introduced me to her baby chicks! They wanted to wish you all a Happy Fluffy Butt Friday!

Lovely. Ime it is true that mum does introduce her chicks to the keeper. Although I see most hatchings, there does come a point when mum has got the chicks away from the nest and makes a deliberate effort to show the chicks to me.
The chicks don't usually seem that impressed but something must go on because I become a safe spot, even if they are a little nervous.
