I liked how Lucy would have a little sit if she happened across an egg. That was after she had stopped laying.I don't know. I'm told Marans tend to be broody later in life. I tell people she is a career hen, more interested in bossing the others about than being a mum.
She''s had a sit most days recently. If I believed she knows she has missed out in some way I would feel sad for her. Fact is, she's had a fantastic life by any any creatures standards.
That lot look healthy enough. Here are some of my girls just living their lives. I don’t think I’ve featured them lately.

I'm a terrible sucker for a really pretty hen ~ though I do tend to think all chickens are pretty, just some more so than others.Seeee Bob... I’m not the only one who loves and picks pretty chickens! Ribh and I prefer the beauties over the uglies
Love the chickens but can't like seeing them in cages for sale.I went to a local poultry show this morning. And no, I wasn’t tempted into buying more chooks! There were some tatty rescue ISAs but I just couldn’t go there. There was a trio of Cochins and a trio of Pekins that I briefly thought about, but I deliberately didn’t set up my quarantine area so I wouldn’t be tempted. I’m not in the right headspace for new girls at the moment.
But I took lots of photos. There was even a Vorwerks breeding trio!

I believe they are supposed to be cream coloured. I will let you know when mine start laying. They are getting close.
Thanks. There are some issues, but let’s just enjoy their beauty (physical beauty and their personalities) for now. That lot look healthy enough.
