My new cat wants me up at 5 am now. Way too early for me. I am not a morning person.

No. She wants to play. She wakes me up by purring in my ear and then proceeds to attack my toes through the covers.

Every Day

Every day right now Phyllis is laying an egg. This is unusual because Polish are known as indifferent layers.

Every day she lays said egg in a nest box in the coop. This is good news because last year she laid her eggs all over the yard. It was like an Easter Egg Hunt every few days to find them.

Every day Phyllis goes through this panic stage before she lays the egg. Squeaking and racing about the yard looking for some place to lay said egg that is better than the coop.

Every day she still checks out the old wood pile despite never having found it satisfactory before.

Ditto THIS ^ . What happened to @featherhead007 's Emma makes old traumas fresh again. Hard to always be on top of the wider impact when in the refresh. I took the suggestion to use a spoiler as helpful, not critical.

Thank you - you are right @featherhead007's situation did make me go back in that way. I managed to edit the entry to be inside a spoiler. I hope @featherhead007 is OK, we haven't heard from him in a while.

She leapt onto my back today and climbed me, trying to sit on my head.

I wonder if her former keepers couldn't deal with the closeness this kitty needs. Why was she being rehomed? Your kindness and love will be a great help to her!

I’m looking to replace Emma. Poor Jaffar has no interest in the others now. If I can find a NHR same as Emma.
