Same here, monthly it’s nearly a grand more than our mortgage repayments. Much bigger property though so that’s a factor also!

Is it strange that, doing a bit of research today on light and speckled Sussex hens, that they seem to be different in body shape/size in all pics/videos?
Snow seems spot on for a light (massive and broad) but the speckled all seem like Belle (bit smaller, leaner, not as fluffy etc)
I thought Belle was a mix because she wasn’t the same as Snow but maybe she’s just being her best speckledness

I have been installing two raised garden beds for the last few days. Today I was shoveling compost into the first one.

The girls came to investigate.
There are 3 birds in this photo. Can you find them all?

I had my 8 hours sleep. But I’m up before the rooster. Sad to say, patrol last night was uneventful. Great for the local community, but I was kinda disappointed that no arrests were made. I miss active duty. Time for coffee

Guess what? Dorothy laid an egg with a shell today! I have not been giving her extra calcium... but she just finished a 14-day course of enrofloxacin per avian Vet’s suggestion.

That is so exciting. Hooray for Dorothy!
