Coop Cam

Well the coop cam is down. I am not home and the batteries have run out. I meant to change them before I left but in the rush getting out the door I forgot. I am going to have to trust that my wife will make sure they are in bed safely tonight.


The camera in the run is still working. We have been having high winds every couple of days this winter with wild fluctuations in temperature. From 13°F (-10.5°C) to 67°F (19.5°C) in the space of 3 days. The up and down is hard on the ladies.

I am very glad that I covered the windward side of their big run this year. It has given them more room to roam safely without literally being blown over. I have seen the wind actually stagger them while they are out in the yard. Some days their free range has been limited to right next to the big coop (our house) because the wind is so strong.

It is another windy day today and here are Mal and Aurora using that run coverage to stay upright and still be out.

Still having a few issues with catching up, I’m considering mentioning it on the updates, it appears like I’ve read all the posts and am caught up, then after I post a comment I see a bunch I missed appear that weren’t there pre comment they aren’t new comments they are 8 hours old... I am refreshing my screen when I log back in. Has anyone else run into this? I also have Internet issues sometimes so I have to wonder... it could be on my end?

Well, forgive me if I have already answered this before, but yes I'm having that issue too. I can't get caught up because of it, and I'm completely out of sequence in my replies and comments. So, if I make no sense, just ignore me.

Yes, I made that complaint and so did a few others. This is what we mean by jumping around.

@BY Bob Whenever you get out this way, just stop by here. You can have some of the lizard's in my yard if you catch them yourself. We would have to get that on camera too, wouldn't we?

When we were living in Florida, my cats would bring me a lizard every day. I think they would be sitting outside in the morning sun thinking, hey, we should bring mom one of these lizards...she gets so excited about it when we do!

Not really, I’m missing posts completely, like the pictures shad posted of Knock and Bracket, I saw the post with bracket this morning, the one with Knock wasn’t there. It popped up for me tonight though...
What I do when I wake up (after first Chicken chores) is go back to the last post I read on a thread the night before. I then read all the posts chronologically to the most recent post, then I comment. And now there are more posts before my comment that weren’t there before, and not like when someone is commenting while I’m typing a as per usual long winded comment, these are posts time stamped as being 6-8hours before my comment. But I know they weren’t there because I went back to where I left off the night before and read all the way through. It’s like they just appear randomly after I comment.
