I always wonder, if these chickens appreciate their fluffy butts, being advertised world wide? (Your hen is exceptionally beautiful by the way) but my question still remains.

Like an invasion of privacy/request of consent?
Maybe we should be asking them for permission like the suggestion you should ask a baby if it wants it’s nappy changed?

Today I can report I heard the escort song from somebody, it was great to hear! Queenie was the only one to regularly call, and I was afraid I wouldn't hear it again since she died. I can't imagine being tired of it! But I'm piping up here to add this bit of information - about these theories of whether anybody is around or not being the reason for the call - this happened when they were locked in their coop & little 9x3 run. There's really no place for anyone to disappear to. Except - maybe the caller was up at the coop threshold / ladder top and everybody else was directly under the coop where they couldn't be seen, and quiet as a mouse. I mean, they would be within two feet of her under there. I will check next time. The song didn't last very long.

My Minnie belts out her escort 'song' (more of a mad woman screech) regardless of whether she is right next to one of the other Princesses.
I think she likes the sound of her own voice!

Ha! Maybe I need to do like I did with kiddos...pics shared online until they become more easily recognizable (like who can tell babies apart? I can't even tell my own from one another in old pics).
And then from there, ask if okay to post.

Then again my girls are camera hogs... I'll take that as implicit approval to share

Whip was announcing all of her first eggs. But I think she just didn't know what was going on with her little body.
She is much quieter now. I think the neighbors are happier too
