So it’s not chicken related, but check out my first zucchini of the season. Actually, it can be sort of chicken related, as last year I shredded zucchini for them as a treat and they loved it. And also seemed to help with Dorothy’s eggshell problem, I assumed from the manganese. Now I’m thinking maybe that was just a coincidence, but still!

It's so exciting to see them start.

I saw tomato blessoms today for the first time. The tomatoes are coming! The tomatoes are coming!

My eggplant bloomed!! I've never tried to grow eggplant before, so I'm excited to see what comes of it.

Looks great! I’m not much into eggplant, but might want to add one to the garden for making Ratatouille.

LOL. The dish. The dish, ratatouille. I started making it last summer when I had a ton of squash. But the squash was way ahead of my tomatoes and I had to use supermarket tomatoes. It’s actually super delicious!

When made right it really is. Delicious!

Look who is feeling better enough that she is back to roosting at night. 2nd night she's got up on the roost herself. This morning when I turned the hooligans loose she was still on the roost so I got her down myself. She may want to roost, but I'm still worried the jolt of hopping down on her own will be too much for her. She's also been free ranging all day now for the past week, she is sticking to area's that are safe and if she needs to can get under cover easily. Her limp is improved but it is still there. I think from here on out she will always have a bit of a limp.

OMG... avocados here are more like $3 each, I think. Crazy.

Funny you should say that; it’s raining avocados here at the moment! (Probably due to the cockatoo in the avocado and lemon trees atm!) Video to follow…

I love a good hamburger with bacon, avocado, Swiss cheese, and (bobs favorite... NOT) young spinach. Yummy !

It appears Anjou might be my only hen. The cockrel fairy has been extra prevalent for me and @RebeccaBoyd this year. On a side note I haven't introduced Birch yet. She is five and loves to play soccer.View attachment 2694400View attachment 2694401
