Here's hoping they survive. I wonder what attacked the nest. Any ideas?Well, something found Henrietta's nest this morning. I noticed 2 hours ago she was out back, thought she was just here to eat, poop and dust bathe. Went out a few minutes ago and she is still here. I was worried so I went and checked, about 50 feet from her nest was one busted egg, and inside it was another one. There are still 10 eggs but they were covered in sticky yolk. I candled them, still alive so I wiped them off with a damp towel and moved them and caught Henrietta and put her in my spare dog crate. She's mad but is sitting on them. They are exactly 2 weeks into incubation, but I do not know if where they got covered in goo, having to be wiped off and were slightly cool to the touch if it will hurt them. All I can do at this point is hope for the best as judging by her behavior Henrietta is still determined to sit and be a momma. Crossing fingers that in a week she is rewarded with at least 1 chick.
I was going to suggest vent covers. I'm glad you found them. I'm planning to use them on my new design.I think I have the answer. 2 of these
