A thought on calcium & foraging

Could oxalic acid in leaves like dandelions work against calcium absorption? Just thinking in terms of human nutrition, that used to be an issue at least (as in spinach has calcium, but the presence of oxalic acid counteracts absorption, so hard to say how much calcium is really getting in?)
I need to read up on that. I wasn’t aware of that.

Why not see what happens if you leave her there? Then make her move if it becomes totally unbearable. Phyllis is tough and she's got determination. Maybe it's time she had a prime spot, so now she's claiming it! I guess I'm rooting for her. It's not like there aren't other nest boxes for egg laying available.
She is sleeping on the nest.......

I was thinking I would watch on the camera tomorrow. Sydney used the center box last year. I wish Phyllis was there. She is so small compared to the others.

I do not know what to tell you, I've never been successful in moving hens from their chosen spots. 3 times now I've had hens choose the favorite box to go broody in. What I've done when that happens much to the other girls dismay is block off the entrance with chicken wire. Then once a day remove the hen to make sure she relieves herself and eats and drinks. For about 3 days the other hens complain, and complain loudly that the favorite box is occupied but they soon get over it.

Rocks-Ann has a problem tonight
(She does, then I do) stuck egg I’m thinking. I will advise byc later. Need to give her a warm Epsom salts bath and try to help with her discomfort .
Oh no! Poor Rocks-Ann! Do you also have some calcium you can give her to help her pass the egg?
