All this fascination with blue eggs. I hope you get your blue egg layer. I'm the exact opposite, I would be upset if I got a blue egg. I want browns, all the shades of browns. I'm actually anxious for the new up and coming girls to start laying. Their momma's lay light tan eggs, Butters is actually tan with a few speckles. Thanks to daddy Drumstick, his gene's should make the new girls eggs darker. I'm not expecting as dark of eggs as my full marans, but somewhere in the middle. Then with Squirrel and Creamy, will they also get the speckles on their eggs like their momma? Time will tell I guess. As long as its not a boring white egg, or blue I'm happy.
Easy for me to say as the roadrunners do lay blue eggs. Teeny, tiny blue eggs. But I really love the brown eggs too.
At the moment only Maggie is laying a normal brown egg (the other two are having soft and brittle shell issues). I think Maggie's big brown egg is perfection. I real gift. :love

Just trying to manage your expectations.
I appreciate the help. Everyone is going to help I'm sure.

Not that I'm keeping track or anything, I would never do that. 🙄

She should start laying around Feb 2, 2022. In the depth of winter. I suppose that will force me to wait even longer. :barnie

All of my eggs, except Phyllis are essentially tan at this point. I joke about Aurora's being pink. Lilly's when they do come are no longer dark brown.
This all comes from me selling Mrs BY Bob on the EEs by promising blue or green eggs. She won't let me forget that neither laid color eggs. 😪

I swear you sound like me. Going by the average of when all my girls have started laying I will start looking for Squirrels first egg end of August. Raven, Creamy and Pumpkin middle of October and Blueberry will be old enough first of December. I'm fairly certain I'll have to wait on Blueberry until spring, and possibly 1 or 2 out of Raven's group. But if they all decide to lay no matter the season when they are old enough I will not complain.

Blood pressure meds in hand (excuse me for a moment)
A piece of unsolicited advice. You do what you and your doctor think best.

I take mine before bed. It then reaches peak effectiveness about the time I wake up. By taking them in the morning you get peak effectiveness while you are sleeping when your blood pressure is unlikely to spike.
