Also, I did not see any more maggots on Ruby, but she does have a couple more tiny sores. I actually never saw a maggot on her at all, just on the turd. I’m wondering why I can’t find them? Her body language is better, even though she is super weak. So I’m hoping I’m on top of it enough. I washed her back end this morning with betadine scrub, towel dried her, and sprayed Veteracyn (sp?) on her. I also washed Little Mill and Bridge’s back ends with water and a little dawn.
Oh good, I hope all is well,

Cute gazebo we made for the chickens last weekend. They seem to love it!

Oh! I think we also have that fly trapper. Is it from Home Depot?
I bought it on Amazon. I’ve done the reusable ones in the past and it’s just so disgusting. I know the plastic is bad for the environment, but I wanted something that I didn’t have to reuse.

You will come to a love/hate relationship with that fly trap. They work amazing and you will be shocked at how many will be in it after only a hour. The downside, after a day you will start to notice the smell it puts off. Thankfully I only notice our when I walk by it, and we keep ours in the tree that overhangs the creek. Its perfectly placed to be right in the middle in front of the horses stalls. Between that and the feed through fly control that is given to the horses at lunch time it keeps the numbers down. It also helps with the chickens too. The pelleted fly control disrupts the fly's life cycle in their manure. The chickens being chickens and doing what they do best by scattering it and eating stuff out of it. Totally gross I'm sorry, but the fly's also stay away from their poop. But it's summer time here, and hot and humid when it's not raining. With both horses and chickens you have to do what you got to do to keep fly numbers down.
