I’m at work and won’t get home until after dark. That means two things:
  • No free ranging until tomorrow
  • My work wifi filters out videos, so I can’t view it until later.
I can’t wait for the weekend! I sat with the girls for just a couple minutes this morning in my bathrobe and they flocked all around and jumped in my lap. Lucky had a hard, late molt and is back to squatting, talking, and lap sitting, despite her pale comb. I’ll try to get pics and/or videos this weekend. I spend most of my time with the flock on weekends.

Please pass my deepest apologies to Hattie. I should know her name by now.

She said she forgives you.

I love watching chickens peck at food! They seem so precise and imprecise at the same time. Nice video.

Does that lavender orp have nice feathering? She sure seems to. Mine are all a bit unkempt and scraggly looking. I did some poking around on here and read that the lavenders can have what I think was called the "ragged feather" gene. Though, I only found one thread on it. If this is the case, all of mine seem to have it

Don't mind the mess, but I was feeding the dogs last night and the "curious bunch" that are my 5 month old pullets decided to come and see what the commotion was about. Course I fumbled around long enough getting my phone out I only caught two of the six that had ventured up. :rolleyes:View attachment 2015379
These are probably the oddest behaviored bunch I've had. They will come a running to me or the dogs, but are not yet accustomed to treats.
Interesting that they trust the dogs. :love

I 110% concure! Convenience :old

That said, with the germs and the small children, i will not have a nest box inside for some time :hit

However. I will continue to brood babies in the house :love 127 quailie heartbeats in my incubators :love due tues and wend
Pffttt, you're more than half way there already.:p:lol:

How's the run you built holding up?

It takes a lot of practice to get feeding pecks right. I've watched chicks here struggle with it and you can almost feel their frustration as some piece of corn pings away from them.
