I do not expect nothing less from Butter. It is such a normal thing for her. The princess is too good to eat from the ground or a communal treat bowl. No matter what the snack she takes hers in her own way. If its raisins she must get them directly from the box or bag. Buns, she prefers to tear her own pieces from the bun, not have it tore up and tossed. Today she was only picking the whole corn from the bucket and trying to toss the rest.
Love it. She is my kind of chicken!

I did have the camera out with me this morning and these pictures of Butter make me laugh. As a treat I fixed up a bucket of whole corn and the horses grain. I scattered some on the ground and put some in one of the feeders for everyone. That was not good enough for Butter, she had to have hers straight from the bucket.

If you are going to give your bird coffee, don’t use the cheap stuff. Try fresh Colombian ground! :gig

A few more pictures from this morning. Raven and Creamy were debating if it would be worth trying to share Butter's Bucket, but thought better of it. Raven is jet black, but under the right light she is green. I also got some pictures of Momma hen's gang. Other then color and some of them having feathered feet, they appear to take more after their game heritage then the Marans side. Momma is still hanging on tight to them even though they are as big as she is.

Who feeds “Folger’s” to their friends! :he
Hey now, don't make fun of Folger's. I started sneaking drinks of coffee when I was around 5 years old from my grandpa. He drank Folgers, my mom and dad drink Folgers. To me there is nothing better then Folger's classic roast. And as far as using the empty cans as grain buckets, did you know that a 270 cup size Folgers can holds the same amount as a grain scoop. It is easier and cheaper to keep a handful of empty coffee cans on hand to feed everyone out of. And my chickens know what that "red bucket" means and will mob you when they see you walking out with it.
