Jumps or Flight?

Well it did not take long for them to get up on heat plate. Of course watch for the dismount and you can tell the difference between the two of them size wise. It is pretty dramatic. Silvie's dismount is not graceful.

Well, mine apparently like sardines. never served before, zero hesitation . blueberries were a harder sell. sardines going on the list for moult/winter treats. 1 tin × 11 birds, well 10 (Thing hasn't figured out the idea of treats). Storm is FAST! swooped in and snatched from under beaks of bigger birds.

Haha no but my sister commented when we got them that they were nut brown so we went with nut names... if that makes any sense?!

Good thing they don't come in green: pistachio...well, maybe for one with green legs...

Ooops! She will learn. In an earlier post I said they would be on top of the plate before the end of the weekend - now I am going to say they will be up on the edge of the brooder before mid-week. You can see them looking up and planning how to get up there (and in Sylvie's case maybe also how to get back down).

I’m here hugging Chaco. My tenant offered me a cold beer, but forgot about the fact that I don’t drink alcohol I like this man, he’s truly trustworthy. I’m trying to convince him that he can stay as long as he wants. As long as he keeps taking care of my property, and he’s doing a great job with that, and my Chaco too!

I think you and I were thinking of the wrong book - probably Chocolat by Joanne Harris. @Blazinga is right - Like Water for Chocolate is altogether darker - it is set in Mexico during the revolution. I did enjoy it (haven't seen the movie) but it was a hard read.

Yes!! Thanks for clearing that up! I thought I'd lost my marbles so it's very comforting to know, I'd only lost one of them.

Do you have a chicky playpen so you can take them outside with you in the sun occasionally?
