I may be in the closet but the door is open.:p:lol:
I find the what I like and what's best for them line hard to draw. Bear in mind that Cillin was orphan and Treacle was his son, but more to the point, he was Mel's son and Mel trusted me and spent a lotof time with me while Treacle was a chick and after. So, the circumstances often dictate what happens later on.
Course, that does really explain Treacle's leather fetish but hey, it takes all sorts right?
That's right, I forgot about the boots! :lau

It’s common for my birds to drop weight during molt. I’d just keep a close watch and make sure she’s eating SOMETHING.

What are your nighttime temps like? Last year my Ester had her first molt, which was quite a hard molt, and got weak and hypothermic. Does Hazel still have a decent amount of feathers?
I remember you had Ester inside. Hazel doesn't even approach Ester's level of feather loss. 39F at night this week, 55-65 daytime's, and it is warming up after Saturday I think. She's got a good upper set of feathers and some below, I feel pins on her belly there, but no really bare spots. I frankly haven't looked at her underside, just felt it. She is not acting weak, she's eating worms, I dug some and I saw her get two, she ate a little scrambled egg yesterday also and today for the first time ate some dry soldier fly worms. She refused the yogurt calcium mash balls. She's been eating dandelion leaves and grass. Her poop has some solids in it and interestingly I saw weird solids that turned out to be granite grit. This evening her crop was a a bit bigger than a golf ball in size, not big, but there's something in there. She's been first in to roost, which is normal, but instead of cawing and moaning for awhile outside, signalling it's time to roost, she just goes right in. The coop is double-walled and the roost area is small. I hadn't thought to worry about cold, she looks feathered enough. I think she's okay in there next to the others. Maybe I'll try to look at her underside tomorrow. She has not been acting weak or lethargic, or been standing around hunched.

It sounds like she’s doing just fine and you’ve got a good handle on things!

Oh, sometimes music and dancing are shared on my thread too. Shad put an amazing dance video there yesterday.
I missed Thirsty Thursday. I didn’t even know about it. I guess because I am not on Gdek’s thread!

Platina took a few steps yesterday and is doing the splits again today.

Wings are short and ragged, but the new feathers look nice.
