It's almost been 2 months since Drumstick passed and Basil has grown up. Gone is the lanky teenager and now a fine young man struts proudly around in his place. He really is the spitting image of his daddy.

He really is gorgeous !

I am being stalked every time I set foot outside now. The blue girls who still protest being touched unless it's bedtime when I can pet 5 out of 6 now hover and follow me everywhere in the backyard. I've also gave up on singling each one out with a name besides Flurry, the other 5 are Blue. They all look alike. I can also be washing dishes and just look outside and there they are. Staring at me and waiting, they know if there is left overs they get dumped into the scrap pile. It would not be so bad if they did not glare at me with angry expressions all the time. These 6 are plotting something.

They are not plotting anything. You are their life now! They are obsessed with you. 😆

He is outstandingly handsome, those colours are fantastic

We had a terrible storm one afternoon ~ lots of wind & rain. Through the downpour there was this insistant tapping on the glass of a window. A little songbird was trapped against the glass by the wind & was begging to be let in. Eventually I felt so sorry for it, I brought it inside, dried it off & warmed it up before releasing it in a sheltered corner of the yard. Throughout this little bird showed no fear @ all, just gratitude for some temporary shelter.

That beak looks like a juvenile bird.

i was outside and see my chickens dust bathing in my garden square! Emily in the center, i only saw her back fluff! rizo and izzies bum and tail feathers were in her face so much i just saw her back fluff! I missed the photo, but i have a few other photos of their tails in her face (not as much as last time though) it made me laugh. emily really likes it though, she closes her eyes and does little happy thrill noises.

When Dotty needs a nap it has to be NOW! She was running from A to B on some urgent chicken business (don’t ask!) and the sun came out and wham she is out like a light!

Love when chickens sunbathe like that! My emily was sprinting in her racecar sprint (havw to video that, its adorable, like a little racecar zooming about) and then the sun hit her and she flopped to her side
