As long as Legertha doesn’t challenge Phyllis for the crown.I'm not holding out a lot of hope that they will all three be pals. I am hopeful that I might get a Daisy, the greatest hen ever, Patsy and Lilly situation. Patsy and Lilly grew up together and always had a bond that Daisy would not have with them. However, they moved into Daisy's house and accepted her rules. If I could get that to happen then I would be very happy. There is no way Phyllis will ever split those two up. They are way too attached to each other.
The whole thing is already a success. Phyllis has a safe place to roost and is not sleeping alone in the run on an outside roost. Hopefully they will develop into some kind of group. But even if not, at least the abuse Phyllis takes is limited to the typical bottom of the order pecking. It's no longer running the gauntlet every night.
In my experience, very unlikely to happen. Seniority usually rules the day especially when littles are growing up with the bigger hens. Unless of course Phyllis gets real pecky, then there could be a reaction I suppose. I could have a Hattie Aurora moment. As long as Legertha doesn’t challenge Phyllis for the crown.

Actually I’m thinking that Legertha will probably do that! She’s a pretty outgoing little lady!As long as Legertha doesn’t challenge Phyllis for the crown.

Thank you. She is a rescue, and I love her to death. What a beauty!![]()
Got it. Sorry to hear that. I know that’s what Beekissed used when the birds she nursed back to health were infested and a local friend of mine recently was able to get rid of a mite problem with it (wood ash), but I have no personal experience with lice or mites in my flock (tribe). Please keep us posted on her progress. Poor thing. It's a bit beyond a dust bath problem now unfortunatley.
Wonderful 'out of the box' thinking with the pop-up for cover!Enhancing and Developing Solutions
A Possible Solution
First, I came up with some temporary protection for when the littles free range. I haven't used this since my oldest daughter played Jr Olympic softball. This should help a little.

It extends the cover from the garden around to the Magnolia tree. That should help a little.
An Enhancement
The first decorations are on the Cluckle Hut.

Thank you. Still going through some things, but getting through.Hello, @Cynthia12 ! Hope you're feeling well!
Poor Sansa. Phyllis probably rubbed it in her face that she was looking glorious and ready to go to the black dress affair. Meanwhile, Cinderella (Sansa) coud just stay home and clean the fireplace. There are hens that just have days where they hate someone. Sansa is chasing Phyllis around right now. Most of the time it is only perimeter pecking but today Sansa is chasing her for some reason. Who knows why?
Maybe because Phyllis is looking spectacular as always and poor Sansa an absolute mess. Maybe Phyllis smarted off about it.

What do you expect? Bob let’s Phyllis wear pearls, and strut her stuff along the catwalk!Poor Sansa. Phyllis probably rubbed it in her face that she was looking glorious and ready to go to the black dress affair. Meanwhile, Cinderella (Sansa) coud just stay home and clean the fireplace.
Sansa's golden lacing is looking a bit frazzled.
Just hang in their girl, you are growing gorgeous new feathers to put Phyllis to shame. She may have elegant black...but she doesn't have your golden lacing!!! (simple elegance versus stunning golden colour? hmmm lots might pick stunning gold!)
