Initial Reations to Sansa from the Vet

Switch her to baby chick feed. Worried about nutritional deficit of some kind.

Make sure oyster shell is available.

Heat the coop if I can.

Blood work drawn and sent out. Will likely be next week until it comes back.

Vet is going to research situation as she has not really seen this before.

Of course they are also doing a fecal exam.

Baby chick feed like 'starter grower' feed?
I am encouraged by a vet who admits he doesn't know and is committed to researching the issue.
Did he agree that it is her new feathers that have shredded or does he think those are the old ones that for some reason she won't release?
Sorry, lots of questions!

Is it just my eyesight or is the top beak shorter than the bottom beak?
Is that what they do when the cut the beaks?
I think normal is for the top to be longer. Is that right? It is dark here now so I will need to look in the morning.
There doesn't seem to be a normal when it comes to beak butchering.:(

Very promising! What are your thoughts?

That would be great. Looks like railroad ties. I am trying to figure out where steps could actually fit - I really love the curve on yours but not sure I have the room for that where I need them. I might just need to use the snow shoes I got at the very end of last season and of course now need to find in the garage!
:lau
If need be ,think in terms of a series of shallow terraces that just happen to be the same depth as steps.

Didn't I tell you to keep them in your car? Emergency travel kit!

I'm curious whether an image might be helpful 🤔
