Vet said that the abdomen can be drained, but the condition will return. And that it’s not uncommon for her breed to get this condition. It’s probably my fault for over feeding herNo, she’s not doing well. I’m letting her rest today (I’m doing what I can for her)she’s bloated up very bad like a balloon. I just soaked her in warm bath water. (I’m sure that she hurting)

Thank you for letting me knowIt helped. It wasn't a cure and nowhere near 100%, but it slowed her down enough for a month.
Now the hormone is worn off.
The days are shorter now and she's slowed down naturally...we will see what spring brings!
Everything that goes wrong is not always your fault AlexVet said that the abdomen can be drained, but the condition will return. And that it’s not uncommon for her breed to get this condition. It’s probably my fault for over feeding her
I hope @micstrachan will share her experiences here. I'm really interested too learnShe will be 1 in January.
Yes, this shot only lasts 1 month. The next option was ~500$ just to buy the hormone (which would be saved for us as it has multiple doses)...add in the 100$ office visit each time. I'd have done it as next step, but wasn't winning popular vote with hubby (wouldn't stop me, let's be honest).
I'm not recalling the names of each hormone therapy @micstrachan also has some firsthand experience.
Yes, I’m looking into another veterinarian for a second opinion. The way she’s acting, I might be too late alreadyEverything that goes wrong is not always your fault Alex
I read about a hormone replacement that can help ease some of these situations. Ive not had the opportunity too try it, but you could look it's up and maybe get further advice
I've thought this so many times with amber and she keeps plodding on, making sure she has all the goodies. Hopefully it will be the same for youYes, I’m looking into another veterinarian for a second opinion. The way she’s acting, I might be too late already![]()

That sounds like ascites. If that is the case, I don't think it is your fault.Vet said that the abdomen can be drained, but the condition will return. And that it’s not uncommon for her breed to get this condition. It’s probably my fault for over feeding her
