When I am giving a treat like beef liver, I offer just one or two chunks at a time only opening my hand when it’s in front of the chicken I want to take it, and I say their names. I posted it once, but I’m having trouble finding the video in my youtube library. What I do with the tribes and Ex Batts.
When I open my hand I let the roosters eat first. Then I close my hand and move it away and open it again infront of a hen. I do this as many times as it takes to ensure that everyone gets something. The hens are used to the rooster giving food to his favourites and don't even expect to get any sometimes.
If I prevent the favourites from eating and offer some to the more junior they grab waht they can until the seior hens move round to where my hand is and then thhe juniors will back off again.

Oh no. Sorry to hear. Get well soon.Hi my friends. Today is an interesting day for me. I started coughing in the night, and awoke to lack of breath and more coughing. I took Jaffar from the chickens room, back to the coop. Then I called an ambulance to get me to hospital emergency. I’m here now. X-ray, CT scan, IV steroidal, lungs hurt bad from coughing so much. And all the uncomfortable waiting for doctors and nurses. (Sorry, no pictures of fluffy butts from me today) I will take some pictures when I return home.
Total bummer of a day for me!![]()
Awesome that you shared them all!

Indeed. They know that you are their protector.
Mine have been scared since the hawk is around all the time, too. It’s a bummer.I still cannot believe that they did not come out. Before this they would have gleefully been running all around the yard.
Good point! On the brightside, it seems they are confident no harm will come to them in the coop and run.
