A Chilly Visit

I say with the girls in the run this afternoon. They were actually already out in it when I went out to see them. I opened the door to find my seat occupied.

You can see how cramped the corner is with the Hut in the run now.

Everyone came out to visit.

Hattie for one, does not mine eating by my feet. Especially with some spilled meal worms about.

Phyllis had to show me that Sydney had laid in her coop again. Sydney did use the same nest by the door.

You can see the nest here from inside the Hut to the left of the food.

All of this is fantastic! I just love love love how us hanging out in the run encourages them to come out. Very cool to see it at your house.

Still hard to get through though.

I think it was two summers ago when we had temps around 44 for a week, up to 46 one of the days.

This page says we got up to 48 (118)that year, but I think that must the high for the whole state, not for the city.

Yikes!

Haha! It was -43C here this morning. It has warmed up to -39C this afternoon. I would never leave my girls to deal with temperatures like that though. It's -12C in the coop.

That is so cold.

Arizona decided to stay in the house for tonight. I’m guessing that she was picked on last night by the bullies

It’s such an awesome day!

First, it's great to see them all outside again being chickens.

Second, I love the sound of chickens in leaves. It makes me so happy. I hope to hear it again.

Third, have I seen that chicken statue before? That thing is incredible. I love it!

Fourth, hawks stink.
