Yup, all very familiar! We are supposed to only have one more day of this and then get more acceptable temperatures next week. Here's hoping the meteorologist isn't just trying to humour us!
Now under a freezing rain warning and snowfall watch ...

Supposed to be +1 by morning, I think mother nature is bonkers!! But if it gets mild my gang might go out and root around the manure pile tomorrow morning while I do chores.

Then back to -25C for Monday and back up to +3 Wednesday 😲😲 never seen such wild temperature swings before. Livestock really has a hard time with this.

A Chilly Visit

I say with the girls in the run this afternoon. They were actually already out in it when I went out to see them. I opened the door to find my seat occupied.

You can see how cramped the corner is with the Hut in the run now.

Everyone came out to visit.

Hattie for one, does not mine eating by my feet. Especially with some spilled meal worms about. 😆

Phyllis had to show me that Sydney had laid in her coop again. Sydney did use the same nest by the door.

You can see the nest here from inside the Hut to the left of the food.

That's awesome 💖

So love your Polish gal, 🤗🤗🤗

Still hard to get through though.

I think it was two summers ago when we had temps around 44 for a week, up to 46 one of the days.

This page says we got up to 48 (118)that year, but I think that must the high for the whole state, not for the city.
Yep that's hot!

How do u keep your chickens cool? We get hot and humid here (+35C and very high humidity), and o find it challenging to keep horses and chickens cool ... Fans full tilt in the barn.

Alex, how do they get down from the rafters? Bridge is almost six and doesn’t love jumping down from high places. When she was a pullet, she LOVED to climb and jump up to the top of the play structure (now their coop) and jump/fly off the top. It was INSANE!
