Hmmm...o boy, this is getting tough. Teddy could work on multiple levels...he can be a bit of a snuggler at times...and he is sweet (talk softly), but he won't shy away from a confrontation if it has to happen. Protective of his girls. (Carry a big stick)

Okay: Sanders, Theodore (Teddy for short), and Nalopeon (Nappie) are all in the running. I'll have to think on this and which I think is a better fit. Thank you all!!!❤️
You know what....I think Nappie....and will reserve Sanders and Teddy for his offspring...if they are anything like him, I will be keeping 1 or 2 of them!!!

If you're really leaning toward Napoleon, maybe go with Bonaparte and call him Ol' Boney like the British troops did.

She's determined to set. I tried moving her last night. Was like trying to move a bowl of jello without the bowl and using your bare hands. Decided to let her be. If by some miracle she's successful, her next challenge is keeping the littles alive through deep winter. not 100% certain when she started on the eggs, but between last Wed and Sun, so....tentative hatch date around Feb 18+/- a couple of days. If shes still on by 25, then eviction has to happen.
Thanks for saying something. I needed to mark the calendar.
Well this is exciting. Any thought to bringing her and the chicks into the house for a week or so after hatch?

Is that Hattie or Aurora at the gate between the bigs and Betty? Nice to see another preening near Betty/the gate. ❤️ (I'm assuming Hattie, but not sure)
Oh that's Hattie. Hattie and Sydney have spent the most time at the gate with her.

DH working nights, boys at school (oldest will be at A School as graduation from boot Camp is on Feb 11), I'm working 20+ miles away during the day. Just don't see how to make that work. Garage.... major draft every time we open the doors coming or going. Mornings, the doors are open for at least a half hour. I open when getting feed, close mine when leaving. He closes his upon coming in. ....Mama had Storm up on top of the nest boxes by the time she was a week old. probably going to have to put the ramp and boxes back int he coop. water is the biggest challenge. I can't let the hose run down the hillside like I did last summer.....gravel in the crock pot, ramp/bricks to reach it...... time to start mulling ideas now. may not need them as she may not be successful, but need to be prepared if she is.
