It was in response to a post. Maybe the one about your post with the videos? Did my response post?

I was saying it made me happy to see THEM so happy running around. I mentioned Betty being fully untegrated (I think). I mentioned the possibility of Aurora seeing a hawk, but you being on top of it. I mentioned their in and out behavior being indicative of the cold.

I think it was about me feeling genuine love in my heart for your birds. I suddenly became aware of my feelings and wanted to thank you for creating this space.

Edited to add: and I mentioned how good it was that Lilly came out, even though it was brief. Did this really not post? 🤣
It posted, it was there!

My wife does the same thing when we have lone chicks.
Thank you for you offer on chicks, but a solution was found. My mother is using this situation as excuse to get another Buff orpington. I knew she loved Butter, and she is her favorite, but I did not know she was wanting another. Mom is claiming that if we cannot find someone to split a order with she'll only keep 1 of the upcoming buff chicks. I think that is all lies, and when the time comes to pick just one she will not be able to do it. What part of Kentucky were you originally from? I think your wife would enjoy it here, we get all 4 seasons although spring and fall are my favorite. Neither one bitter cold, and none of the humidity of summer. I also think I'd get along well with your wife. I love my hens, but my boys are my favorite and I will fight you over them. Me and mom were at war at times over Branch. He bit her once and she disliked him ever since. She called him a jerk, and he was evil and going to cause trouble. She tried every excuse to try and talk me into getting rid of him. I would not budge, and Branch has mellowed out around her and they have come to a understanding. He will now even hop up in her lap if she's outside.

Ezzie is doing wonderful so far. I've got the temperature adjusted just right finally. Every 3 hours I'm getting her out to encourage her to eat and drink. She is drinking good but has not been that interested in eating. I'm not too concerned though as she is only just now 48 hours old and with the fully absorbed yolk sac she does not need to eat right away. Throughout the day today I expect to see her start eating well I hope. I have had chicks before who have taken almost 3 days to get them eating and drinking good even with many siblings. I knew it would happen, but she still gave me a heart attack yesterday evening when I peeked in and she was passed out sleeping. Contented sleeping chicks look like dead chicks when they are sprawled out. Rosie already wants to put her up on the bed with her but not happening yet. She is so brave and bold that she is trying to jump up and off my lap that I know she'll get away and jump off the bed. I was afraid being by herself she would cry nonstop, but she is very quiet. She only cries for 2 minutes when I put her back in the brooder and the rest of the time it is those soft happy chick sounds.

I grew up in Pike county in the eastern tip of the state. My baby sister and her husband retired near Fort Knox. If you love animals and I am sure you do then you'd like Lety. She is an Ellie Mae, lol. Most of the chickens including the roosters come to her willingly. We are always hatching chicks for either her friends or mine. It's rare to see our incubator empty. What part of Ky are you from?
