Actually, TRUE Ameraucaunas are supposed to lay blue eggs and throw offsprings that lay blue eggs.....

The trouble is that most birds sold through hatcheries as 'Ameraucaunas' are actually EEs, not true Ameraucaunas, so you get blue and green eggs from them. Ameraucaunas don't have the gene for brown, hence only get blue eggs, of varying depth of blue.
:goodpost: Couldn’t have said it better.

Those spo
I've collected 4 eggs so far. Here they are and they are what makes me happy to see in a egg basket. From left to right we have Baby, Holly, Corona and Raven. Baby is back to throwing some spots on her eggs, but the base color is just way to light for me to hatch from her. Today's egg is my favorite from Corona so far. I really wish they were already up to hatching size because that one would have been thrown in the incubator.View attachment 3008754
The 3 Marans eggs by themselves.

Those speckled eggs are super adorable. I can see why you would like more of those.

Actually they are all pretty eggs. 😍

Also, I think some of the EE ideas is how you end up with things like Bob’s plentiful browns. Crossing EE and EE just reduces the chances of greens and some people seen to think that the EE is a breed unto itself, not a hybrid with an Ameraucana parent. It’s why the Sapphires are a more reliable cross for coloured eggs from a hybrid with the dominant Blue gene. This is clearly easier and more fun than all the work I need to get doing… lol
We are always glad to distract with a colored egg discussion. 😆

Sorry, I was distracted. Jaffar wanted to see a movie 🎥
What a great day. Me and Jaffar are having a good bonding time. (Away from the ladies for a while) I know that a man has his needs. So he’s getting special attention today. Yes, waddles will be rubbed! :old

It can take months. Again there is no treatment afterwards other than don't touch it.
Oh months! I hadn’t realized that. I was thinking weeks. February 4th was the day she ran around in the rain. So just over three weeks ago.
And yes, I know not to touch it or try to test it.
My poor baby.

When Aurora and Betty went into the Main Coop (Fluffy Hutt, I may start using that phrase!) Aurora went into nest box #1 to lay and I think that resulted in Betty going to the Cluckle Hut to lay hers. There may be something to this who is going to lay where between Betty and Aurora.
Maybe so! Like Aurora wants to have a thorough look around and have complete freedom to choose whatever nestbox she wants. Until then Betty has to wait.

Betty underneath the Cluckle Hut, Aurora's overhead: "Did you decide yet? Can you decide now? This egg isn't going to wait forever!"

Sydney: "Won't wait, no, can't wait, can't wait! Lotsa egg laying going on, lotsa egg laying going to happen! Happen soon, happen soon! Lotsa, Lotsa, eggs, eggs!"

Betty's up on the porch: "Can I go in there now? Please? C'mon, I need a box soon! Oh alright (jumps down)"

Sydney: "Right, can't go in, can't go in, Aurora's there, but egg soon, egg soon, lotsa lotsa lotsa lotsa lotsa lotsa, eggs, eggs, eggs soon!" (Very low: "Aurora takes her time, yes she does, sorry, Betty, the way it is...")

Betty follows Aurora into the Main Coop Fluffy Hutt: "OK so maybe the Cluckle Hut is open then? No? You need to compare and then you might go back to it? Come on, just choose one! I really gotta find a box now!"

Sydney: "Yes, you gotta wait, gotta wait - she's gotta find a box, find a box, choose, choose, choose - " (Betty jumps out the Fluffy Hutt door with Aurora behind her) "- NOW!!!!"
