Yes, sadly I have lots of experience with them. Once you know who it is, I personally would give calcium citrate plus D3 for a few days.
Thanks will have to keep any eye on those two. Problem is I am at work.... How do you give the calcium? I have vit d drops I take bit calcium is huge pills! Have tums....

Have generator. Have to dig it out of the shed 🙁
Sorry, Alex. We are very used to power outages here. Aren’t we lucky to be in California where it’s not a huge deal? In addition to oa generator, I have several rechargeable lanterns, and countertop appliances that can run off the generator for cooking.

It depends. If I’m in a hurry, I pry open the beak and put the pill in. If I have more time, I crush it up with a mortar and pestle into a little baby bird formula and pull the bird aside for a private feeding. The second option is much more pleasant.😊

Does it power the whole house?
We have it worked for the entire house but our place is small. We are normally only running furnace, sump and a few lights. Plus the small heater in the barn.

I wouldn't try running all that stuff plus oven at the same time but am told it would be fine 😉.

We have run every thing and the two tvs and satellite receivers and it is fine. Plus water pump.

It starts about 5 seconds after power out, takes about 2 minutes to get charge up on generator fully in place and then taa-daa lights!
We keep the big propane tank full just in case. It's one of those 'torpedo' style huge ones... But you can get the smaller upright tanks and connect to it also. We use those in remote locations were I work.

I bet hahaha for both of us!

Lost your other convo re: coop/run.

Wow nice! I like it, might add some additional ventilation though. You get the most awesome stuff down there! We don't have those items here....

Thanks. Would definitely need to add additional ventilation, hardware cloth to the run, etc. Some modifications would also be needed to connect the two coops and runs.

What a week for crazy eggs, it's a good thing I just checked the neat boxes - I found another soft egg, this one had broke and was in the box. I cleaned it out, but now I am Worries, three soft ones this week.

I am would guess it's the young pullets who are just starting to lay, as I don't believe in coincidence with the other hens also laying soft eggs.....

But the thing is I got an egg from one of the pullets today so who can it be?

Anyone have issues with soft eggs?
Sadly yes. Diana though I hope she holds off laying a bit longer.
