Mine have the white on a few wattles also. I'm letting that alone as well. Extra oils in food: sunflower seeds. They're burning the calories in the winter anyway. More snow (yay, more moisture!), so they're going to be eating more commercial feed. This weekend, it was so nice out they didn't tough the commercial, just the breakfast scratch, forage, and Cheetah's tidbit stashes......stuffed.

I've added the oil I cooked their sardines into their feed and they loved it

It has. That means the flesh at the connection has healed enough to no longer need the protection. That's a great sign!

Awww… poor Phyllis. Interesting tgaf they will allow Betty. Are Betty and Phyllis hanging out at all during the day? Looks to me tgat all of them hzng out together, but you are probably tuned into the friendships. The more generations I add, the less obvious the strong ties are.

The interrelationships in the tribe are very interesting now. Betty has been seen hanging out with everyone but Sydney. Sydney is not a Betty fan.

Betty has the same boundless energy that Phyllis has. So there are times when the other 4 are laying around digesting, sunning themselves, or preening that Betty and Phyllis will be off on their own together. That makes me happy right there. Because Phyllis used to be on her own at times like that.

Phyllis' issues roosting in the main coop go back to right after she tried to hatch in nest box 1. They got really upset about that and she has been not allowed to sleep in the main coop ever since.

Yes. Very recent photo. I am sitting out with them now! They are both having fun in the sun right now. I am still not believing the snow forecast for tomorrow. 5” expected!
