It's so great that Ned has Cappy to teach as well. You should run a school for young roosters so we can have more trained on what it is to be a proper rooster.

See, free business advice. šŸ˜‰
You know this isn’t a half bad idea… except most people don’t seem to value a good Rooster. I can’t say how many people here have flat out refused to take one with their chick sales, the one person who got an ā€œaccidentā€ turned out liking him enough to keep him, and he got their tribe through a couple predator attacks before a mink finally succeeded in getting into their coop. Everyone says ā€œoh no, Roosters are aggressive and mean, all they do is eat lots of feed and don’t produce any eggsā€ it’s such awful sexism… poor misunderstood boys

Nice! Is that from your friend? It looks like an Aloe, probably Aloe vera.
I just killed mine by forgetting it was in the garage when the temperatures plunged.
I feel bad, it never did anyone any harm and I killed it.
:(
Yep the two best ways to kill Aloe… overwatering it and freezing it. I’ve done both too. I am really good with African violets of all things, and was even propagating them by seed and playing with different aspects of their genetics as a teenager. (I guess genetics has always been an interest of mine…) I just put one on the shopping list for DH… šŸ˜‚. Our cats used to eat all houseplants, regardless of cat grass availability etc, so it’s been years since I’ve had a proper house plant. Therefore, I am incredibly proud of this little one having survived both the cat and the goatling since early October 2021. I bought it from one of the last outdoor markets, hid it in the back top corner of my bookshelf, and just found it again in February… it’s liking the light, and luckily I kept our indoor temperatures above freezing inside all winter! It lives…

No eggs to talk about here!
Turns out @micstrachan was correct, they were talking about eggs. They have all decided to lay at once and it is a big mess.
There was traffic congestion at the nest boxes so Minnie laid her egg on the floor in the middle of the coop.
Maggie laid a perfect brown egg which Diana messed up by laying one of her no-shell eggs and coating Maggie's egg in yolk.
Dotty laid a beautiful egg and as she often does then pooped all over it (I think it is an anatomical defect actually - she doesn't shut off the poop pipe when she lays).
So there I am with 4 eggs in various stages of sticky disgusting-ness and 4 hens all yelling at once to be escorted. Where exactly? They are all there together by the nest boxes.

I would keep Pangoo but he is so big and my hens are mostly on the small side, and he really likes attacking me when I am not looking.

By Bob said that I can come in here and unload my feelings if I need to. Well.
I MISS MY ROO BEN SO MUCH TODAY, I couldn't stop crying when I saw that blue ribbon on the wall next to his picture.this was the day he won first prize:
