Hmmmm tricky situation with a trickster co-worker....

Have you tried bribing him with eggs ? I am not one for puzzles, so if a worker tries to puzzle me or play mind games I am now bribing them with eggs. Be nice you get eggs, be bad I loose your timesheet ☺️
He is doing this to my new hires as he trains them. It is de-motivating for them. I had one ask if he was fired he did so poorly. It's just not helpful.

No I am sorry. I didn't mean to upset you or to deceive anyone.
I never actually said 'guess the breed', I was asked 'what kind they are' and said I wouldn't share until I knew their names but all guesses welcome. Several have guessed Easter Egger.
No hard feelings? :hugs
Of course not. I could never be angry with you. I did not think before I posted that or I never would have. Please forgive me for my thoughtlessness. :hugs

Can you/do you evaluate him in any way? Are you able to give constructive feedback about this to him or his boss???? You have important work and, from what I hear, it is tough getting enough employees in all healthcare sector atm. why would he want to do this? 1 rigorous thought question that involves more than one topic covered is okay; trick questions are not! Tell him a well trained, seasoned educator said so!:plbb

I hate to say this, but he must have a confidence issue (he may appear cocky as a disguise....) Usually confident, well adjusted individuals don't need to 'trick' others into doing poorly. Generally only those that really aren't self confident (whether they exude confidence it or not), or just plain 'mean' people, or power hungry people need to have the 'gottcha' moments that there isn't a call for.

:rantSorry, as a teacher, bullying, condescending, intimidating behavior really p**s me off. Counter productive, scarring, etc, etc. If you are there to train/teach, then TRAIN & TEACH!!!!:mad::mad:

Bless you for even trying to deal with him!:hugs:hugs:hugs

Blue laced Red Wyandottes are an exception to that. Storm's bio roo is one of those: more accurately, he's a splash laced, but because of the way the BLRW breed out (see earlier re: blue, black, splash) is still called BLRW. Her bio hen is an olive egger (aka bitsa bred for olive colored eggs). The olive egger is barred (looks kinda like a zoot suit: black with white pinstripes). All the babies hatch out like sex-link: cockerels have headspot marking will be barred. Pullets have no spot. All are blue. Her brother is Red White And Blue. Blue barred with Red barred hackles and saddle feathers. Storm's crest tells us that her bio hen's parents are a Crested Legbar (like the Roadeunners) and a Cuckoo Marans (the barring and the dark overlay on blue eggs to get olive). Crossing Blue with anything except Blue, Black, Splash can get some color bleeding through. When and how is beyond my current understanding.
Along with @RoyalChick I can't follow this. I know so little it all blends together. BUT it sounds nice and would make good country song lyrics, though I'm probably mixing it all up!

A Blue laced Red, Wyandotte splash,
A bitsa bred Olive Egger.
Barred like a zoot suit,
No spot, all blue.

Olive egger too, he had a headspot
A Red White and Blue,
Red Hackles and Saddles
But he's barred and blue

Sadly he is in a position that is unassailable. No getting rid of him. No going over him. Hard to go around him. We did have a fairly pointed conversation about it.

I believe that he needs to feel superior and protects his position as the "expert" by doing this. "See! I told you. No one can know this like I do."

My current effort is do as much of the training within my own team as possible. This frees him up to be the "expert" when we need help. I believe this will work best for everyone but it is extra work for us.

I'm glad you were able to bring her home. This will be quite challenging for you for some time. The best advice I can give is to make certain you give yourself time to rest as well. Even if you need to hire some help so you can get away for a bit. You need to take care of yourself before you can take care of others.

:goodpost:
Absolutely right - @RebeccaBoyd it is not being selfish to need to take a break and have someone else care for her. Important you and your Mom both look after yourselves as well.
Yes, and I know @featherhead007 agrees too. The situation is 24/7, you are talking about watching out for her all night too- that's very hard to do, you need at least a third person to help if you're doing it in shifts. Been there :hugs :hugs

I'm going to give you all a preview of what I will be setting tomorrow night. All of my Marans girls are laying. Even Daisy who is now for the first time in a year laying 4 eggs a week. I will set eggs from her, Holly, Bunny and Corona. Baby is also laying but her eggs are too small and for now I'm still sticking with the not hatching from her viewpoint. I also have the cochin girls, these chicks will either be half marans or half silkie as 2 of the girls like him. I have 3, hopefully by tomorrow 4 Butter eggs. These will be the same cross that gave me Squirrel and Creamy. I have Blueberry and Raven who are half Marans x EE x Wyandottes, Their chicks if I did the math right should be 75% marans. Squirrel and Creamy are Marans x Buff Orp, again bred to the Marans boys it will make their chicks 75% marans. I'm not going to set momma hens eggs as the world does not need anymore ill tempered hens. I'm also not going to set Chiquita's eggs as she has started showing the first signs of going broody. I will set aside her eggs and when is full blown broody I will let her hatch and raise her and branch's chicks. Now in doing this when the chicks hatch the ones that are black including the mixes will all look alike as little black penguins. So I will advertise them as Marans mixes for 1 each and some lucky people will get pure Marans as well for a dollar. The cochin mixed chicks if they are born with a extra toe I will know are branch babies and will state that they are silkie mixes, if not I will assume they are Marans mixes. To be honest with them even though 2 of the girls like him, I do not think he has ever been able to successfully breed those girls.
