Really magnificent fluff here!
Alex, you have a nice, large coop. But, yes, I think that run is too small. I know they aren’t confined often, but I suggest expanding the run for times when they are. This is my coop and run. I have ten birds. They usually free range most of the day, but when they don’t, is this big enough for them all? (Anybody have an idea?) I have seen much smaller ones on BYC .
I guess I want to hear that my setup is fine for my chickens.View attachment 3044554View attachment 3044555
Oh my frick. Chicks dust-bathing is the cutest thing EVER!I am being lobbied to open up the brooder door. I’m not sure that is a good idea!
And a first goes to Lulu who has discovered dust bathing. I have them a dish of grit. The others have no idea what she is doing but they like to pick at the bits of grit she throws around.

Door to the coop is always open, so in the morning, they can eat and drink. I haven’t had any predator problem except for idiot people.Alex, you have a nice, large coop. Is the run closed off from the coop at night? I think night time predators can get in there.
Oh, good. As you know, I am out in the country with a wide variety of predators. Raccoons can be ANYWHERE, and are brutal. I’m glad you don’t have them.Door to the coop is always open, so in the morning, they can eat and drink. I haven’t had any predator problem except for idiot people.
