Nope there are big spiders living in them there hay bales, that come out at night and run across your face… hard Nope. Maybe once I build a decent goat house with beds and running water

This is my coop and run. I have ten birds. They usually free range most of the day, but when they don’t, is this big enough for them all? (Anybody have an idea?) I have seen much smaller ones on BYC .

Alex, you have a nice, large coop. But, yes, I think that run is too small. I know they aren’t confined often, but I suggest expanding the run for times when they are.

Is the run closed off from the coop at night? I think night time predators can get in there.

I am being lobbied to open up the brooder door. I’m not sure that is a good idea!

And a first goes to Lulu who has discovered dust bathing. I have them a dish of grit. The others have no idea what she is doing but they like to pick at the bits of grit she throws around.

Door to the coop is always open, so in the morning, they can eat and drink. I haven’t had any predator problem except for idiot people.

Oh, good. As you know, I am out in the country with a wide variety of predators. Raccoons can be ANYWHERE, and are brutal. I’m glad you don’t have them.

Not more than 15 miles from me, they have coyotes and mountain lions. Big predator problem up there.

The frizzles are so different, I think they are awesome

But not cold hardy, though my dusters survived winter so I guess they r not that bad! I do have a radiant heat source for them and I make them roost in the bottom nest box to stay warm at night.
