But they are very attractive chickens. They're Vorwerks. I will never have them again. They've not been a good fit with my tribe & I've had no end of trouble with them.
she does for sure. I love the way she has her head tilted.Old Penelope, she also like to photo bomb when I am trying to take pics hahaha. Doesn't she look fierce,?
Sooooo cute! Oh how I would love some chickies....Goodness it feels like the brooder is getting too small for the Hooligans. They have discovered that if they run fast enough and flap hard enough their little wings will lift their feet off the ground.
Bella in particular has mastered doing this deliberately rather than by accident. Bella was practicing flapping from day one and it is paying off. But the brooder is only 29” in each direction which seems not quite enough for flying. When I move them to the brooder box in the coop they will have 36+ inches. But that still feels small!
I am not sure whether to try and make something bigger or just wait until they are big enough to be free roaming in the Chicken Palace.
I don’t remember this being an issue with the Roadrunners. Maybe because there was only two of them.
Of course they are not always flying. Sometimes they take a rest and pretend to look grown-up. And sometimes they can barely keep their eyes open!

This is getting scary.Avian Flu
There are now 4 poultry farms here with this Flu, and a red Tail Hawk has been diagnosed with it. I guess I will have to keep my gals contained inside, there are so many wild birds here now that I worry about them catching it from them.
i am surprised there is no poultry vaccine for this flu, there is one for the horses, oh and of course people. I am surprised with the amt of money spent on the poultry industry they don't have a vaccine.
