Heading home to east Kentucky today. I haven't been to Hillbilly Days in 20 years so I am due.

Welcome home! Rosie is excited as they had cancelled Hillbilly Days the last 2 years. Promised her I'd take her 1 day to the carnival. She wanted to be dropped off and meet up with friends. Nope, not yet little girl, you can pretend to not know me, but you will stay in sight of me.

Oh and just did a head count, 21 out. 1 is I think a blue the rest are black besides the 2 yellow chicks. 14 more eggs to go.

I was not fully awake when I took this a few minutes ago. I realized after I uploaded the video that I was calling Baby, Bunny instead. Oh well, giving Baby the 3 chicks was a success! One of them was trying to peek out at me when I went outside and she gently tucked it back under her.

Does it get more adorable than that? Amazing that she took them. Well done Baby and congratulations to you too!

Yes I'm proud of her. I'm sure though she is a bit shocked how she ended up being a momma after sitting on nothing for so long. That is one thing about Marans, they love being Mommas. Do not let anyone ever tell you a Maran is not prone to being broody. Lies I tell you, all lies. Corona is broody at the moment, having to constantly remove her from the nest she's chosen. The only full Marans I have who has yet to offer to go broody is Daisy.

At her age we thought that we didn't need to be watched over but the truth is there's a lot of days now that I shouldn't be left unsupervised. Lol

That's right Bob. I've read 5000 pages now. Time for me to do some arithmetic again:

On April 6, 2022, I was on page 4403 May 7 2021.

This means that this past 14 days, I've read 42.6 pages per day. An OK record.

I will post a picture of Foggy. According to the posts around page 5000, a picture needs to have at least 2 chickens to be a proper tax... oh well.

He’s got two eyes, so that’s good, but more tax is required.
