Actually, I don’t ride her regularly. She sure is a beautiful lawn ornament though, don’t you think?
Sometimes if she’s in the mood, I will ride her bare back. (On her back, And I’m wearing a shirt :lau)
Oh but I wish I had a chicken big enough to ride! :old :love

Funny you should say that… how about this one?

I have two pips, both from dark green eggs, I expect there will be chicks out by morning!
Edit to add… I think I’m wearing mamas patience down by lifting her
One chick is out, I pulled three bad eggs and the second pip didn’t make it… she still has three eggs, two of which I’m fairly certain are ok, and one questionable (full moon and a dark shell makes for really bad candling conditions) praying for a couple more babies tonight… but at least there won’t be any really nasty explosions. She has raised a single before successfully, but it’s nicer when there are more than just the one.

Had to dig into the archives for some Twofers.

Ok, this one is a threefer, but it’s Ester and Dorothy when Cashew brought them to my lap.

Here are Dorothy and Bridge on my lap (I had forgotten that Dorothy used to like my lap. I wish I had held her when she died.)

Lovely pics. :love Dorothy looks quite content using your legs as a roost. I do believe that just being with them is comfort....having a 'friend' nearby seems to comfort them like @BY Bob 's Lilly with Patsy. Please don't second guess yourself.....you were there for her, and that's what matters. Clearly she loved you..So I'm sure you were a comfort without even holding her! (Dorothy was a real looker, btw!)

Of course, Bridge needs to roost on the actual flesh, i see...looks like she is roosting on your bare ankles.....mmmmmmm nice HEATED roost here!
