I am still not quite liking the look of her. I can't put my fingre on anything specifically wrong.
With everything going on your gut instincts may be either hypersensitive or just a bit off. I have no idea which it might be. All I can suggest is to keep an eye on her.

That my friend is what she would do before she laid her egg. She would start that as soon as she rounded the corner of the house on her way to the box. After she laid her egg she left quite as a mouse.
So the roosters knew. Good for them. 😆 I apologize gentlemen.

Rain Rain Go Away

As I said earlier today, it rained and rained today. Flood watches are up it rained so much.

I eventually left them out. 1 out of 5 hens had the good sense to remain indoors when it rained hard. The other 4, well watch the video.

Sydney sheds water pretty good. She walked around in her best wild turkey imitation with her tail pointed straight down. She held up pretty good. You can see the other 3 yourself.

One great thing about them being soaked is that you can actually see how small Betty is. As you can tell from this overhead photo, she is almost exactly the same size as Phyllis.

Finally, my only truly smart hen.
