That is what indoor shoes are for - so it really doesn’t matter what you step in on the way in.

I had DH well trained, and even the roommate too eventually but when you step through the door straight into the living room/kitchen and there’s practically no room in the entrance… “poop” happens. of course right now I’ve got 78 little poppers taking up half the living space as well so I think it’s mostly a moot point at the moment!

It's good you have the gals to chase after, keeps everything moving which helps with healing.

We ordered 74 (maximum per order) they shipped 79, so we have 78 as of this morning. I believe I have spotted several more bottoms that need further attention, though I thought I had them all functional last night. I lost my heat plate battery at 11:30pm and 4:30am. And had some huddling this morning by 7am, but that was quickly resolved by the application of feed. Guessing based on wing feathers and size we are between 2-4 days old, maybe a few of these hatched out on the fourth, but by no means the majority.View attachment 3100747View attachment 3100728

Tell us about how you are running the heat plates off a battery? Is that a vehicle battery, lower left?

I believe that cows and goats poop a bit more than chickens. (Just saying)

But the goat poops (unless she gets into iced tea) are nice little rabbit-like pellets, so they don’t really track and the cow poops are easier to avoid than the cecal poop sitting on the steps! I gave up last year and just bought a little rug cleaner. Now sheep poop, that’s the worst it’s like a cecal poop but large dog sized, and crazy slippery, just big enough to really suck, but small enough to hide in tall grass makes chicken poops seem pleasant

Yes, but they weren’t getting along as well when in the smaller run so he got let out first thing… we will continue the experiment tonight perhaps.
