Sounds like you may have won against the rose bush, but it made it's revenge known!

Hey Lulu, is that you and your mom?

Still not having any luck finding you on Beakbook. Were you bad and mommy 'grounded' you? No Beakbook for a month?

( Don't let mom read this next part: Can't you sneak a quick message to me? She won't know.......;) My handle is: MysterieChickie0522 )
I fear Lulu may have got too self important to chat. She is working on her own fashion label specializing in cute little hats and fascinators(sp?) so that alien chicks can walk among us undetected!
Here is an example of her work.

If it is full this morning.....I would definitely suggest action. I'll let @RoyalChick respond with full-on directions. She, unfortunately, seems to be the resident queen - by -fire, on impacted crops.

Generally speaking, though: coconut oil (easy to feed, but olive oil works too), massage, limit/avoid ANY fiberous foods.

@RoyalChick please elaborate...unfortunately you have gone through a number of them lately, but fortunately with positive results. My non-invasive efforts weren't so successful.
The 'avoid fibrous' food will be problematic... In the barn, hay shavings...

Will try the coconut oil and massage

Oh and grit. Because mine wander around outside I don’t normally see them take the grit I offer. But Minnie kept eating extra grit I served and that was the first thing I noticed making its way out the other end.

I have been wanting to do this for some time now. I knew once I started doing this there would be no going back. So I am now diving in and I hope you all enjoy coming along for the ride.

First of all let me tell you how we view our flock as that will help you to understand why we treat them like we do.

Our birds are our pets and we treat them as such. We do not care if someone is not laying eggs. They are welcome to stay at Fluffy Butt Acres until they pass naturally. (Now don't go telling them that! I would hate for word to get out) We do thoroughly enjoy the fresh eggs.

I plan to tell stories from the past as well as from today. I hope you all enjoy and will share stories of your flocks as well.
Hi,
How funny, I run a page about feeding dogs a raw diet and it is called Fluffy Butts Raw!
Great name

Sadly, I don’t use the local lake for boats or wave runners. The level is too low and there are many obstacles to hit. Logs, trees, rocks and it’s hard to launch a boat anyways (if I had one)
Sounds like it is a reservoir man made.

Lakes here are cold and deep! Glacial remains

I offer both grit and oyster shell. They spend most of the day cruising the barn so lots of bugs, spiders, hay and shavings for them to indulge in.

During the week days they only get outside for a couple hrs in the evening. But on weekends I kick them out most of the day. Unless I am not there to supervise, in which case in they come until I get back outside.

Once I get the run completed they can go out full time.

Good morning everyone. Happy Fluffy Butt Friday. I will probably use a old photo later on tonight. I do not think I'm going to be up to bringing out the camera today. In the past 3 days my sweet Daisy has taken a decline, and this morning she is walking like a penguin. It is sadly time and I will not let her suffer. I am just having a cup of coffee mentally preparing myself to do the deed. I can do it, but I am a wreck afterwards. I am torn on opening her up to see exactly what the problem was. I want to know, but I think I'm going to bury her intact with dignity. I will most likely end up spending a hour digging her grave as my yard is fill dirt which means all rocks but she is getting a place of honor in front of my River Birch tree beside my golden retriever. It was one of her favorite hangouts, and the place she loved to snake hunt the most so it is fitting.
So sad Rebecca, but you are doing the right thing, you are a good chicken mama for sure.

Hugs from me and my wee ladies
