My mum told me she found an egg in the wheelbarrow where I had some loose hay.
Oh no that's terribleIt's not really the mountains, I'm in the pre-alps! The summit on the picture is 1500 meters ( 4900 feet) high, the highest summit we have is behind our house at 2500 (8200 feet). We never have snow in summer, normally the last snow is at the beginning of may. But we had almost none this winter, we've been in a state of draught since November.
Oh my what a stunnerCoop Raising
On Saturday I went to help @CrazyChookChookLady set up a new coop and run for Ned and his ladies. It was great to see him again and watch him manage his tribe. He really is an amazing lad.
Here is their new coop and run.

They are planning to extend a second run out the back of the coop as well.
I wore the same hat that he had roosted on the day I left him with her but he clearly did not recognize me. He kept his ladies away from me and kept himself between me and them at all times. I'm glad he is such a good rooster but, as unrealistic as it was, I was a little sad he did not remember me.
Here he is leading his ladies through the trees and some close ups.

The smaller roster next to him in photo #3 and alone with the ladies in photo #4 is his son Cappy. You can see how much smaller than Ned he is. Ned is a very large fellow much like his Dad, Stanley.
@Shadrach I know you don't read this thread anymore but I thought you would like this update.
Holy Dinah that looked funHi Bob. No, I just haven’t been on BYC much. I’ve popped by MJ, Ribh’s and Shad’s threads and stop by if I’m tagged or see something on the home screen, but I would not leave this thread. I justt can’t keep up.
Things are good. My eye is healed up. I finally refilled all my flower pots this weekend, and discovered a yellow jacket nest in one of the wine barrel style pots. Not fun. After unsuccessfully attempting thr Frontline in catfood eradication method amd trapping, last night I tried a non-toxic kill method. I’ll know on the next couple days if it worked, I think.
Last weekend we went river rafting and I injured myself. Check out the chaos jn thjs photo as we got tossed through a major rapid. A bit painful with a pulled muscle group, but exhilarating nontheless.

We had some drama with the neighbor across the way (who bought the other property right after we bought ours) renting it out as a corporation yard. I won’t go into it, but we are glad to have out peace, quiet and privacy back since my husband put a stop to it.
The chickens are doing well. It’s strange having some mini summer molts, but it gives them a break from laying.
I’ll close with a mugshot video of Bridge.
We all missed you but know your busy,Hi Ponypoor. I miss you guys! I’ve just been busy. Thanks for saying hi. You are such a kind person.![]()
