Awe I love house chickens!! Abigail would often come into the house and rest for a while. Then come evening she would want out and returned to the coop with the rest of the flock.

I am afraid that this is what is going to happen. My wife indicated that she was ok with them coming into the house. I think the first trip I take for business I will find out that they are sitting on the couch with her watching TV!

You are most welcome to join the flock. I was stunned when I saw in my notifications that someone had liked 67 of my posts at one time and then I realized that you were reading through all the posts. I am glad you enjoyed them. I feel flattered. I know I have looked at some long threads and thought that is too much to catch up with. Thanks for plowing g through! Now you should know any inside jokes, etc.

Oh yes and i really feel for your recent loss. :hugs Poor ole gal. I dont keep the majority of my poultry as pets, but i understand those of u who do theyre some of the neatest pets. My gals will have their retirement home as theyve paid their way but i put all the extra cockrels in the freezer myself.

Glad to be here, its nice to see you who love your pets and do all u can for them :love

Yea after the flood im dreading the forcasted 17" of rain. Fema wont help me again and i havent been able to get homeowners insurance for our "special hazard zone" while paying rent and that places mortgage plus theybwant someone to come survey the land to quote the insurance price. They made a forecast like this when that happened.

Thank you for the kind words on Patsy. The loss is easing. Those crazy Littles have really helped me to move on.

I sincerely hope they have the forecast wrong for you and nothing develops. My aunt's house flooded yesterday from a thunderstorm that just sat over her house. Here is a picture of her house. The car in the driveway and the one in the garage are likely toast. That stream of water is normally nothing more than a trickle even in the spring. So sad. Everyone is ok though.

Oh, wow. Our Capitol floods like that in summer. Anyone in the low spots has water through their house. It is such a mess to clean up & stinks. I am so sorry for your aunt! :(

Bob.. I figured out who lays what.. I thought my largest egg was coming from my Buff Orp but found out the other day it is my black Australorp.. and isn’t it interesting how the two Australorps lay different looking eggs... for some reason the EE egg and the Buff Orp egg look darker than normal in this pic...

It is an accomplishment to figure out who belongs to which egg. Great job. That is a big egg from that Australorp. It is surprising that they are so different but I have given up on predicting chickens. I think descriptions are just averages. The hens are always a little different. Hattie's egg is not overly large either. Perhaps orpingtons are just big chickens not layers of big eggs. :gig

Is Today the Day?

She has been in and out of the house 3 times in the last 90 minutes? Will today be the day and if so, what color?
