Awe poor girl is all sorts of confused!! She'll get it in no time. Maybe you should hook up the laptop and let her watch some videos...

Aurora laid her first egg today



I know this because I got 4 eggs today and I only have 4 hens. Here arethe eggs in the nesting boxes as I found them.

The white ones are ceramic, leftover from my leghorn days.

For color purposes, a white background.

I don't see any green.

I am 0-3 trying to get non-brown eggs. I got a rooster and 2 brown egg layers. This is why I hate casinos

Oh well, I have 2 special hens even if they lay ordinary brown eggs.

I know I’ve heard of it but never really thought about it.. I sure hope I get some shades of green or blue from my three new little ones.. Kelly’s is a dull green and that’s good enough for me..
So exciting though! .... I love when they start to lay... and I STILL love it

Dont get me wrong, I am thrilled she is laying. It's that mark of being fully grown. We got her there successfully.

We have never had 4 eggs in one day before either as I have never had more than 3 laying hens at any time. I am worried as to how I will keep track of who is laying what. I was counting on some color to help, . I will have to look for subtle differences in shading and I'm not getting any younger.

We are thrilled she reached egg laying successfully.
She even got some pork chop last night in celebration!

It's funny because we started with white leghorns and the same boring white eggs you get in the store. Then we added Patsy and Lilly and were super excited by brown ones because they looked more "farm-like". Now we were praying for green. Sometimes we are just never happy I guess. My wife was so excited when I told her that our little princess laid yesterday. Then she saw the egg and went shoot, no green. I think she wanted to shock people af work with a dozen green eggs,! Especially those people that think you need a rooster to get eggs!

The more eggs the better! One day I had nine eggs in one nest... but only eight gals ... still haven’t figured that one out as I swear I got all the eggs from the day before.. but who knows.. someone may have laid late.. thought it was great though... nine eggs and eight chickens
